Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam starrer upcoming comedy-drama Batti Gul Meter Chalu, which was slated to release on August 31, will now hit the big screens on September 14 this year.

Shree Narayan Singh directorial Batti Gul Meter Chalu is a social drama that narrates the story of a man who takes on power distribution companies for charging exorbitant rates.
The main objective of the film is about bringing the social issue of electricity shortage to the notice of people and to encourage authorities to investigate the inaccuracies of electricity bills.
The film has its fair share of controversies even before release. The movie has been stalled, stuck in legal battles and not so long ago, Shahid Kapoor sustained some injuries during the shoot. But finally, the film is complete and will release on 14th September. The film production concluded recently at Mumbai’s Mehboob Studios.
According to reports, Shahid Kapoor is all set to play a power-thief of sorts in a local town of Uttarakhand. Actress Yami Gautam will be seen donning the lawyer avatar, defending Shahid Kapoor in the film.
Talented Shraddha Kapoor would be playing the role of Lalita Nautiyal a.k.a. Nauti, in the film. The movie is produced by T-Series.
