In Frankly speaking with Arnab for TIMES NOW, Big B spoke about a lot of things including his film, SARKAR RAJ, his blog and his family. The man who has always seen a lot of highs and lows in life, Amitabh has taken everything to work for him. The film Sarkar Raj which will have three of the Bachchan family together is a very important film for them while Amitabh and Abhishek has worked with Ram Gopal Varma, Aishwarya was working with him for the first time.
All the three Bachchans have been happy to work with a director who makes one give his best to the film. That is why Big B is full of praise for the director. As the film was a sequel to SARKAR, Amitabh needed to carry out an intense and brooding character which he did perfectly well but he claims he is not a brooder naturally so he needed to cultivate the look. He didn’t deny the fact that the role is heavily drown on Bal Saheb Thackeray.
The story in the film is a powerful Maharashtrian semi-political family so the comparisons are more evidently seen. Amitabh Bachchan confesses that he has been always interested in political films and he had discussed with RGV about working on a film together and that is how SARKAR came up. According to him every strong political family will always have some palatial conflicts that have been given a place in the film.
He even claims that the film talks about the outer strength of a character that sustains him and the times of internal conflict.
As an actor it becomes extremely important to switch to roles, which Big B does with a subtle swiftness and he tried that in the film too. He known when as Sarkar in the film he was supposed to give some indifferent shots while he was supposed to overcome his personal loss to give a powerful shot.
These scenes needed one to switch from one mood to the other real fast and it was expected of him to do it. The actor used to have log hours of discussion on the particular expression needed in a scene and the result can be seen on the screen.
India being a democratic country, Big B thinks we can talk about the conflicts behind dynasties more freely and with a particular interpretation that might not be accepted publicly, that makes it more challenging.
Big B wants to play another important political character in future RGV film because he thinks there would be nobody better than RGV to make a film like that.
Amitabh doesn’t deny the fact that he might like to enter into politics.
Describing the role of Aishwarya who plays a businesswoman in the film, Amitabh quite firmly that she was not a part of the Nagre family but it is she who brings all the politics and plans and issues that make the film. Aishwarya plays a non glamour role and the father in law of him takes better of him and he has all praise for Ash in the film.
As a public figure Amitabh hopes to keep his privacy intact but is not sad to remain under continuous public and media glare. When he has been criticized that he shouldn’t take up new films by some younger director, Big B states, with age, he can take up more challenging roles.
He is happy that he did films like Nishabd, Black and Bhoothnath which do not have a typical lead role and the central character need not be a hero. Talking about rituals shown in Bhootnath he fully coincides with the director’s thought. He is happy that his role has been taken positively.
Big B firmly states that he has been writing the blog himself and he does it to remain faithful to his fans. He loves to go for one to one with his fans via the blog. His blog is a means to express himself and clear himself of any rumors that spread around him and his films.
RGV who is planning for a sequel to AAG, Amitabh shows lot of confidence in him and say that he would love to be part of the film and do as the director say. He even hopes to accept a film where all four of them feature, including wife Jaya who isn’t a part of Sarkar.
