Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali attended premiere of One Heart: The A.R. Rahman Concert Film on Thursday in Mumbai. While interacting with media, Imtiaz stated that biopic should be made of A. R. Rahman.
Imtiaz and Rahman has worked together on Rockstar, Highway and Tamasha and they share very close bond, when asked Imtiaz whether biopic should be made on Rahman, Imtiaz said, “Definitely.. I think biopic should be made on A. R. Rahman sir but I don’t think, this is the right time to make film on his life.
“If anybody is interested making a film on him then they have to start their research about that but it should be made later on. He is too young and he is in the middle point of his career”
Talking about his excitement about watching One Heart, he said, “I feel no matter what you expect but you will still be surprised. I don’t know what’s going to happen with me because I am not expecting anything. I am really looking forward to the surprise. I think it is going to be musically interesting and in terms of format it will be very surprising”
Commenting on senior journalist Gauri Lankesh’s murder, Imtiaz said, “It’s not that happy that has happened. I am not a political figure but it is not happy space to be in”
After mixed response to his last film Jab Harry Met Sejal, when asked what are his future endeavors, he said, “I am writing new scripts. I am trying to figure out which one is good and as usual, I am trying to find best scripts to which I can do justice”
Ashutosh Gowariker, Armaan Malik, Boney Kapoor, Akriti Kakar, Javed jaffery, Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, Raghav Sachar, Mukesh Chhabra, Roop Kumar Rathod, Lalit Pandit, Pankaj Udhas and Jubin nautiyal were present at the premiere of One Heart: The A.R. Rahman Concert Film.
