Makers of ‘My Birthday Song’ hosted special screening of their film on Tuedsay in Mumbai. Bollywood celebrities Samir Soni, Sanjay Suri, Rohit Roy, Sangeeta Bijlani, Neetu Singh, Sohail Khan, Chunky Pandey, Tusshar Kapoor , Nora Fatehi, Sanjay Kapoor, Sonali Bendre and Neelam Kothari Soni attended special screening of ‘My Birthday Song’

Samir Soni – Audience has given positive feedback to the trailer of our movie. From the industry, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor praised the trailer of the film so I am really happy. I am also feeling some pressure to live up to their expectations. We have made this film on our choice and I think we have made a good film therefore, I am sure that youth audience is definitely going to enjoy this film.
When asked Samir whether Karan Johar has motivated him to direct this film, he said, “It’s a truth that I had no intension to direct a movie. I wrote a script so I decided to show it Karan for his feedback and after hearing it he said you should direct this film then, I met Sanjay Suri to know his feedback about script he also liked it and agreed to be part of the film so we both produce this film because we thought if other producer will force us to incorporate item song or action sequence in the movie but now we have made this movie just as we wanted”
Sanjay Suri – Our film has been supported by big personalities of Hindi film industry. Karan Johar launched the poster of the film and Salman Khan launched trailer of our film so we are thankful to them because I am an independent filmmaker so we don’t have those means to reach up to the audience. Apart from that, audience has given positive feedback to the trailer of our film. I don’t believe in number games. When film’s trailer gets released then within half days it crosses 5-10 millions views. Clicks can be bought, I don’t say everyone does that but it exists. If you see Oscar-winning movies, there lifetime views are around 1.2-1.5 millions but here after trailer launch, it crosses 10 millions views so in these number game I haven’t got involved and in future also I don’t have intensions to do that”
Talking about direction of Samir Soni in ‘My Birthday Song’, Sanjay said, “Samir is very close friend of mine. Both of us have acted together also. When he narrated this script to me then I told him that you should direct this movie so then both of us decided to produce this film as well. Samir had very clear vision while making this film and I feel his journey as a director for this film has been very natural.”
Sohail Khan – Its feels nice when you see trailer of different genre. Samir Soni and Sanjay Suri are my friends. Both of them have acted really well in some movies so I am expecting very nice film from their side. I haven’t watched the film but I genuinely feel that Sameer Soni will make very sensible film.
Tusshar Kapoor – I have tweeted about this film. This film looks very intriguing and something different from a typical Bollywood film. It’s very long time since we have seen a good thriller and I think ‘My Birthday Song’ will fill that void of good thriller. This film’s title is also very unique and it creates curiosity among audience so I am looking forward to watch this film.
Nora Fatehi – I am excited at the same time very scared. We made something different. Its psychological thriller. It’s based on very different type of story so I am hoping that people will like and accept it. It’s a first time people will see me doing acting so for me it’s very life changing experience”
Talking about working with Samir Soni , Nora said, “It was most chilled-out experience. He is so cool and let us do whatever we wanted to do. He has so much trust in us and that’s why we performed so well in the film.”
Sanjay Suri having an extramarital affair with Nora Fatehi in the film ‘My Birthday Song’ Sanjay goes on to dream about things that would happen in future. Sanjay Suri is seen all puzzled hunting for an answer to his nightmares in the film.
It stars Sanjay Suri, Nora Fatehi, Pitobash Tripathy, Elena Kazan and Zenia Starr in key roles.
‘My Birthday Song’ is directed by actor turned director Samir Soni and it will hit the screens on 19th January, 2018.
