On Wednesday, Makers of Phullu organized special screening of their film in Mumbai. Celebrities like Inaamulhaq, Sabina Khan, Pitobash Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana including star cast of the film attended the special screening of the film.

Here’s what they have to say about the film:

Sharib Hashmi – We have been working on this film from 2014 and today is the day first time audience is going to experience our film. I am very nervous at the same time excited for the film.

Jyotii Sethi – I am really nervous and excited about the film. I hope people like the film. Abhishek Saxena – We are taking things positively and now our all eyes on audience about how they react to our film.

Pitobash Tripathi – I really like the film. It’s a funny, interesting and moving film which gives lot of inspiration. Out of 80% of India’s population is from villages and still, there are some misconception among the people about menstrual period and women hygiene so I feel, it will give good message to people. The most special thing about the film is that, it is talking about important topic but not for a moment it looks preachy or like an educational documentary. People will enjoy this film throughout but when they come out of theatre they will take some good amount knowledge about this issue.

Aparshakti Khurrana – It’s a very relevant film. Whenever Sharib works in any film, it’s always relevant film. I don’t know how he manages to catch hold of these roles and each time brings natural performance, I envy him as an actor. The film is looking good and I hope more people will turn up at to theatre to experience some entertaining and thought provoking stuff.

Phullu‘ is termed a social drama about a man who makes sanitary pads for the women in his village, and beyond, at affordable prices so that they won’t suffer the way his wife did. The film also has an interesting tagline which goes like this “Jo aurat ka dard nahi samajhta, bhagwan usse mard nahi samajhta“.

‘Phullu’ is directed by Abhishek Saxena, starring Sharib Ali Hashmi, Jyotii Sethi and Nutan Surya. The film is produced by Pusha Chaudhary, Dr. Anmol Kapoor, Kshitij Chaudhary and Raman Kapoor in association with AmbiAbhi Production. Story, screenplay and dialogue is written by Shaheen Iqbal.

CBFC has given ‘A’ certificate to the film and apparently, makers are not pleased with CBFC’s decision.

The film is slated to release on the 16th of June, 2017.
