Cartoon Network Comics Go Mobile!

India’s no. 1 kids’ channel, Cartoon Network launches comics of its globally popular and iconic toon stars on mobiles. Comics of kid’s favorite Ben 10, The Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo and Dexter will be now available on mobile handsets through India’s leading telecom operators that include Airtel, Idea, Reliance Mobile and TATA DoCoMo amongst others. Cartoon Network has tied up with leading mobile entertainment service provider Nazara Technologies to manage and distribute this service.

The mobile user can download Cartoon Network comics by using their GPRS connection at varied price points from Rs1/- per day, Rs. 10/- per week and Rs 30/- per month depending on their operator. Further enriching consumer’s entertainment experience, Cartoon Network will introduce a customized java application next year to download an entire Cartoon Network comic to read in one go.

Siddharth Jain, Vice President and Deputy General Manager -Distribution and Business Operations, South Asia, Turner International India Pvt. Ltd, said, “As per the latest Cartoon Network’s patented kids’ lifestyle research New Generations a whopping 63 percent of kids use a mobile phone at least once a week in India. This highlights the fact that mobiles and mobility is an integral part of a kid’s lifestyle. We are delighted to add comics of our iconic toon stars such as Ben 10, Johnny Bravo etc to enliven one of the oldest and most cherished content format- comics, now on mobile!”
