May 12, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Darsheel’s super-hero film, Zokkomon, was expected to hit theatres ahead of his other release Bumm Bumm Bole.
So how did Bumm Bumm Bole end up getting first priority?
Says Darsheel, “I don’t know why Zokkomon is held up. Both the films were clashing. I don’t know why Bumm Bumm Bole is coming first. I just want my fans to love me in both films. I don’t know when Zokkomon is releasing. At the moment these are the only two films I have on hand. After Zokkomon I may not have time off from my studies. So I may not be able to do another film for a while.”
In fact, Darsheel’s family was keen that the child prodigy’s other solo starrer, Zokkomon, release before Bumm Bumm Bole. Darsheel constantly spoke about Zokkomon as his post-Taare Zameen Par release.
Percept Ltd. had to step in and rush-release Bumm Bumm Bole before Zokkomon.
Says Shailendra Singh of Percept, “We did indeed take steps to make sure our film comes first. When we heard Zokkomon was releasing first, we revved up our release. We wanted Bumm Bumm Bole to be Darsheel’s first release after Taare Zameen Par. We were not sure how audiences would react to Darsheel in a film about an ordinary child’s extraordinary adventures in Bumm Bumm Bole after being seen as a super-hero in Zokkomon.”
