August 4, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Bollywood actress Rani Mukherjee has got a reason to smile as her film Dil Bole Hadippa has been awarded the ‘Readers’ Choice Award’ for best film of 2009 by Germany’s Ishq magazine.

Dil Bole Hadippa stars Shahid Kapoor in the male lead. The movie could not make it big at the Bollywood box office with an unusual subject like a woman aspiring to be part of the men’s cricket team representing the country at the international level. Debutant director Anurag Singh directed the movie under the Yash Raj Films.

According to a press statement by YRF, the movie bagged the award beating other Bollywood films like Billu Barbar, Love Aaj Kal, Luck by Chance, and Wake up Sid.

Rani Mukherjee played the roles of a girl and a Sikh guy Veer, which is actually her disguised version to enter the men’s cricket team.

Veteran actors Dalip Tahil and Anupam Kher were also part of the film. The 2009 released film brought Rani and Shahid together for the first time on screen and their chemistry was noteworthy in the film.
