On the auspicious occasion of Eid on Monday Shah Rukh khan interacted with media in Mumbai. While speaking to the media he talked about his professional journey, controversy surrounding Jab Harry Met Sejal, Bollywood debut of his childrens, and his cameo in Tubelight and he stated that it was his duty to do cameo in Salman and Kabir Khan’s film.
Shah Rukh shared screen space with Salman after very long time in Tubelight by doing special appearance in the film, talking about the film when Salman approached him to do cameo, Shah Rukh said, “Who can say no to him (Salman)? Who has the guts to say no to him? I really liked the film I saw it one and half times. Kabir and Salman is very old friend and I feel it was my duty to do that. I am happy that I did okay relatively good job with it because when you do special appearance for a film like Tubelight or Ae Dil Hai Mushkil that time you don’t have much knowledge about the script butt when I saw the film I felt happy with it”
On asking working with Kabir Khan in future, he said, “He is my old friend from Delhi. We used to do lot of plays together. As of now, nothing interesting came on our way and once we find something interesting to work with then definitely we will work with each other”
Recently, during screening of Tubelight Shah Rukh’s daughter mobbed by media to click her pictures and she felt very embarrassed in that situation, talking about that, Shah Rukh humbly requested media, “You should not take only few pictures of my children as they are not used to it like me and they get very embarrassed and awkward in that situations.”
He also clarified reports that his son and daughter making debut in bollywood, he said, “”My children will first have to finish their studies. In my house, a person has to at least be a graduate or they won’t be allowed to enter the house. Suhana is still in Class 11. So she has five years of studies left. Aryan has four years left. If Suhana wants to be an actor, then she will study to be an actor. So there is a long long way to go. Just because she makes public appearances does not mean that we are taking her out so that people will notice her and make her an actress”.
The actor also expressed his pleasure for having completed 25 years in the industry this year.
“I am really happy that half of my age is gone doing acting. I have earned a lot for myself. Now I want to give it back to people. Twenty five years is a long period and I would like to thank people for their wishes,” he said.
In one of the ‘mini-trails’ of the Imtiaz Ali movie, actress Anushka Sharma is seen handing over an ‘indemnity bond’ to Shah Rukh, saying there won’t be any legal ramifications if the couple ends up having intercourse.
This didn’t go down well with Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chairman Pahlaj Nihalani, who condemned the telecast of the mini-trail which was meant for digital consumption only. After the brouhaha, he demanded that if he gets one lakh votes from the common people in its support, he will clear the usage of “intercourse”.
Asked for his opinion about the whole episode, Shah Rukh told the media here on Eid on Monday: “I think I am below 18, so I cannot vote (laughed).
“On a serious note, neither I, nor anyone in the film – Imtiaz, Irshad (lyricist Irshad Kamil) sahab, Pritam da or anyone would use any disrespectful word that hurts a family or anyone’s sentiment. We are yet to send the film to the censors and they should watch the whole film to decide.”
Earlier in the day, Shah Rukh with younger son Abram waved at his fans from terrace of his Bunglow in Bandra to give them greetings of Eid.
Shah Rukh and Anushka’s Jab Harry Met Sejal is releasing on 4 August, 2017.
