Ghajini maker AR Murgadoss has been signed for a two film deal by the Indian movie arm of Hollywood giant studio, 20th Century Fox, Fox Star Studios. But this deal is not for making Hindi films but Tamil films.
Murgadoss is a celebrated name down South in both Tamil and Telugu cinema. He had not only delivered a bumper hit with the original Ghajini in Tamil but also given super hits in Tamil before Ghajini such as Deena (2001) and Ramana (2002). His Telugu super star Chiranjeevi starrer Stalin (Telugu) was a big success as well. He entered Bollywood with Aamir Khan starrer Ghajini.
Sources claim, the deal gives free hand to Murgadoss to select his own script and stars. One can recall, last year Fox Star Studios had entered into a film deal with Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s production house Blockbuster Films which has delivered under its banner super hits such as Waqt, Namastey London and Singh Is Kinng. Shah is scheduled to make one romantic comedy and one fantasy action thriller for Fox.
Fox Star Studios first release, few months back has been the multi Oscar winning Danny Boyle film, Slumdog Millionaire.
