Dream Merchant Subash Ghai’s Black & White has been served with a notice of showing Muslims in s bad light. Ghai has refuted all the allegation filed by a Delhi University professor at the Delhi High Court. Film producer and director Ghai has spoke against the ban order and stated that the petition has been filed with malicious intentions to hamper his reputation.
Ghai even stated that the petition might have been politically motivated to mar his reputation. Black and White dealt with the subject of a young jihad’s reformation. The petitioner has taken some specific words and sequences to the court, which according to Ghai has been done in purpose to spread disharmony. He cleared the allegation that the film is anti-Muslim.
Dr Khalid Alvi, Head of Urdu Department in Zakir Hussain College, has filed the petition stating the film portrayed the Muslim community in a wrong manner. He also alleged that the producer, director and the script writer has done it with a communally inflammable intention.
Alvi even alleged that the role that Anil Kapoor played, of a professor of Zakir Hussain College has been based on his character and has been wrongly portrayed.
