Himesh’s Riaa aka. Hansika

Ever wondered who is the cute bubbly girl in Himesh’s Aap Ka Suroor? She is being launched with a new name – Riaa. The name Riaa sounds more cooler than Hansika. Oh yea! And she is cute too 🙂

Hansika aka Riaa was born on August 9, 1991 in Mumbai. She has acted in various movies as an child artist. Remember the girl who gets locked in the school and then gets raped in the train in the movie Jaago? She is also spotted in Hrithik Roshan‘s ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ as the small girl in his kid-gang.

Riaa is Hindu by birth and daughter of Pradeep and Mona Motwani. She has a brother – Prashant Motwani. Her mother is a dermatologist and father, a businessman. Riaa knows a lot of languages, but she is confident in Hindi and Tulu.

Riaa’s first debut was to be in Juhi and Govinda’s Yahoo. Unfortunately the film got shelved. Juhi then introduced her in an Hyundai Santro ad with bollywood badshah SRK. And then rest his history. She did several ad films for brands like Samsung Electronics, Bournvita and Pepsi. She also did films like Hawa and Escape from Taliban, which unfortunately, bombed at the box office.

Riaa also acted in Ekta Kapoor‘s daily soaps like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Sony TV’s Hum to Hain Na, Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand and Zee TV’s Tum Bin, to name a few.

Riaa later went on to do the Amitabh Bachchan starrer, Hum Kaun Hai?, a remake of the Hollywood film, The Others. She played Sara, the daughter of Dimple Kapadia character in the film who suffers from extreme photosensitivity. She also played a role in Dheeraj Kumar’s kiddy movie Aabra Ka Dabra.

Riaa will be making her debut as a heroine in Puri Jagannadh’s upcoming Telugu film, Desamuduru opposite Allu Arjun. She also has a Hindi film entitled He: The Only One in where she will be essaying the role of a killer, hell bent on taking revenge for her family. She has also signed a Tamil film, Sarvam, directed by Vishnuvardhan which will be a youthful love story.
