I am also feeling some pressure to live up to the expectations: Samir Soni

Makers of ‘My Birthday Song’ hosted a special screening of the film on Tuesday in Mumbai. During media interaction director, Sameer Soni said, he is feeling some pressure to live up to the expectations.

Samir Soni director of ‘My Birthday Song’ was asked how it feels to receive positive feedback from the industry legends, he said, “Audience has given positive feedback to the trailer of our movie. From the industry, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor praised the trailer of the film so I am really happy. I am also feeling some pressure to live up to their expectations. We have made this film of our choice and I think we have made a good film, therefore, I am sure that youth audience is definitely going to enjoy this film.”

When asked Samir whether Karan Johar has motivated him to direct this film, he said, “It’s a truth that I had no intention to direct a movie. I wrote a script so I decided to show it Karan for his feedback and after hearing it he said you should direct this film then, I met Sanjay Suri to know his feedback about script he also liked it and agreed to be part of the film so we both produce this film because we thought if other producers will force us to incorporate item song or action sequence in the movie but now we have made this movie just as we wanted”

Bollywood celebrities Samir Soni, Sanjay Suri, Rohit Roy, Sangeeta Bijlani, Neetu Singh, Sohail Khan, Chunky Pandey, Tusshar Kapoor, Nora Fatehi, Sanjay Kapoor, Sonali Bendre and Neelam Kothari Soni attended the special screening of ‘My Birthday Song’.

Talking about direction by Samir Soni in ‘My Birthday Song’, Sanjay said, “Samir is a very close friend of mine. Both of us have acted together before. When he narrated this script to me, I told him that you should direct this movie. Then both of us decided to produce this film as well. Samir had a very clear vision while making this film and I feel his journey as a director for this film has been very natural.”

Sanjay Suri lead of the story is having an extramarital affair with Nora Fatehi. In the film ‘My Birthday Song’ Sanjay goes on to dream about things that would happen in future. Sanjay Suri is seen all puzzled hunting for an answer to his nightmares in the film.

It stars Sanjay Suri, Nora Fatehi, Pitobash Tripathy, Elena Kazan and Zenia Starr in key roles.

‘My Birthday Song’ is directed by actor turned director Samir Soni and it will hit the screens on 19th January, 2018.
