I am really glad that I had opportunity to do father and son relationship through  Jagga Jasoos says Ranbir Kapoor

On Friday, Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Anurag Basu were present at the song of launch of ‘Galti Se Mistake’ from their upcoming film Jagga Jasoos in Mumbai. During the media interaction, Ranbir Kapoor stated that he is really glad that he got the opportunity to work in a film which is based on Father-Son relationship.

Talking about the film and his character, Ranbir said, “My character in the film is of young boy from a fictitious small town. He has stammering problem so he has sing to communicate but in that his father teaches him certain values and to be confident and intelligent and one day, his father disappears, so Jagga becomes Jasoos (Detective) to find his stepfather in that journey he meets Katrina’s character. My character is very interesting because for me, I never played a detective character and guy who stammers. I have done romantic films in my life but never done father and son story which is so emotional. This was very sweet and I felt very good in my heart and I hope it all comes through the film”

When asked him about any Galti (mistake) he made which he regrets in his life, “I feel there are no mistakes in life. There are only learning’s and that’s how you grow as human being and artistes”

When asked him about his fantastic dancing skills in the song, he said, “Dancing is essential part of Hindi films. It is important to every actor to dance and have good time on screen. When we were shooting of songs, Dada (Anurag) used to dance himself while shooting it so just to see him dancing was so much fun and in this song, we didn’t rehearse steps at all, we improvised all steps while shooting it.”

Ranbir Kapoor and Anurag Basu has earlier worked in super successful Barfi and now in Jagga Jasoos, when asked about him his experience working with Anurag, he said, “It has been phenomenal experience. While working with him in Barfi, I had no idea what was happening with us but when I saw that film, I was overwhelmed because has compete different process altogether. I don’t want him to work with any actor apart from me because according to me, he is the finest director of our country, his knowledge about cinema, entertainment, India, engaging the audience, performances, characters and music is on different level. I hope me and Dada make lot more films together.”

Ranbir Kapoor carrying forward the legacy of Raj Kapoor and people often observes striking similarity between both them onscreen, when asked about it, Ranbir said, “I miss him every moment of my life. Today I am here is all because he has shown me the path. I feel very proud and responsible that I am his grandson. I feel, he is looking at me from the sky and feeling happy and proud the kind of work I am doing”.

Recently, Aamir Khan and Paresh Rawal who is playing Sunil Dutt in Sanjay Dutt biopic, praised Ranbir for his acting , he said, “These guys are stalwarts of the industry. I have grown up watching them and learnt lot about acting just by watching their movies. Aamir sir has been extremely sweet and supportive in my entire career. I remember, when Bombay Velvet didn’t worked he was the one who spend an entire night with me talking about films, hits and flops, performances so his love for me is really deep and I appreciate it a lot”

Earlier Sanjay Dutt biopic and Salman Khan’s Tiger zinda Hai was scheduled to release on same day but makers of Sanjay Dutt biopic postponed it to next year, when asked about any insecurities while releasing film with Salman, Ranbir said, “I think each film has its own destiny and as makers you should present best version of it. I never play a part in the release date of my films. Tiger Zinda Hai is the biggest film of this year. Both producers must had word with each other about clashing it so they mutually agreed to release their films on different dates. I am playing my part only as actor and as long as film and its strategy is good I am happy with it”

Last year reportedly, Katrina and Ranbir had break their relationship which took toll on shooting of this film, when asked about it, Ranbir said, “we have made lot efforts to make this film. This is my film as much as Katrina’s and Dada’s. We would like to present it in best possible manner and for that we will do promotion in best of our abilities”

When asked about his films impressive lineup, Ranbir said, “I feel extremely blessed and grateful because last 2 years weren’t good for me at box-office but to have film with Dada (Anurag), Rajkumar Hirani and Ayaan Mukherji, I feel safe and they are gifting their vision to me. I hope I can repay this to them with my efforts”

When asked about his hopes with Jagga Jasoos,  Ranbir said, “Its bit superficial thing but when I entered this industry, I always dreamt of winning best actor award and giving good performances so that audience and critics appreciate my p work but I always had a desire to win a best film award and I hope with this film we can achieve that”

Jagga Jasoos is releasing on 14 July.
