I don’t look at negative stories; Sonali Bendre on Social media trolling

Actress Sonali Bendre who is quite active on social media has said that she don’t look negative stories when it comes trolling on social media.

Sonali was interacting with media while taking part at a panel discussion titled “Badam pe Charcha-Working Mother’s Dilemma in Ensuring the Family Health” organised by the Almond Board of California here on Wednesday in Mumbai.

Recently, Jacqueline Fernandez’s ‘Ek Do Teen’ song from Baaghi 2 which is a recreated version of Madhuri Dixit’s original one from ‘Tezaab’ received lot of flak on social media, reacting to it, Sonali said, “I haven’t seen that song. I am definitely on social media but I think you have to focus on what you can do so, I focus on what I can do on social media. I run a lovely book club on social media and I feel the social media is a very powerful tool which can be used well or can be abused also so I would like to be parson who use tool in a good way and my idea of that book club to kind of use it in good, positive and constructive way and I tried not to see negative and non-constructive things on social media or newspapers because I think mental health is very important and that’s part of my mental health so, I don’t look at negative stories”

Talking about panel discussion titled ‘Badam pe Charcha-Working Mother’s Dilemma in Ensuring the Family Health’, sonali said, “It was nice initiative and a learning experience for me and interestingly, I connected with this event because I never go anywhere without my pack of Badam (Almonds) because when I am hungry and when I don’t eat on time, I become angry so I really feel irritated if I am not fed on time so there is always bit of nuts in my bag because if any point if you are stuck in traffic or you are getting delayed to reach somewhere then hunger builds up and you end up eating junk so, I will have snack which will have little bit of badam instead of junk food”

The panel addressed a common conundrum working mothers face — juggling their careers and responsibilities for managing the household and their roles as mothers, wives and often daughter-in-law.

Being a full-time working mother can lead to feelings of guilt and stress because of divided attention between work and family.

“For working mothers, creating a work-life balance is critical as we must ensure we do not neglect any significant part of our lives — our children, our family’s health, our own health and fitness, our marriage and of course our careers,” said the actress, who is married to filmmaker Goldie Behl.

The 43-year-old actress said being a working mother, she can understand how stress inducing the feeling of ignoring responsibilities can be.

“Incorporating small changes/additions in one’s daily routine can have a big impact. For example, eating a healthy diet including a handful of almonds every day and a regular exercise regime, not only helps me maintain a healthy life but also balance both my family’s health as well as my own,” Sonali said.

Talking about healthy lifestyle routine, Sonal said, “To lead healthy lifestyle it necessary to work out and there is no short to it. Work out regularly and eat healthy that’s a best way to healthy happy long life”.

Recently, Sonali completed one year of successfully running her digital book club. The book club that shares its anniversary with World Storytelling Day, turned reading into an in-thing as it steadily amassed followers. The online community brought books, writers and readers together and gave them a platform to have discussion. A bookworm herself, Sonali made it her mission to make the club a go-to portal for aspiring writers and avid readers.
