I enjoy working in a medium where there is captive audience says Hansal Mehta

Published on

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta attended IWM Digital Awards on Saturday in Mumbai. During media interaction, Mehta said that he enjoy working in a medium where there is captive audience.

When asked Mehta whether Digital platform is more liberating as compared to films and television, he said, “No.. I think every medium has its own advantages and limitations. I enjoy making films but I also enjoy working in digital platform where there is huge captive audience for us”

Talking about IWM Digital awards, Mehta said, “It’s a great opportunity and great event. I think its double pleasure for me because I am a creative producer of ‘Bose Dead or Alive’ which has nominated in 18 categories so we are here just to celebrate those nominations and celebrate birth of a new medium”

Talking about his forthcoming project, Mehta said, “Omerta with Rajkummar Rao is releasing next month and trailer of that film is releasing on 14th March”

Omerta is directed by Hansal Mehta and stars Rajkumar Rao in the role of Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, British terrorist of Pakistani descent. The film explores the 1994 kidnappings of Westerners in India for which Omar was arrested and served time in prison and the plotting of murder of Wall Street journalist Daniel Pearl in 2002.

It was screened in the Special Presentations section at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival. Omerta is scheduled to be released on 20 April 2018.
