“I was apprehensive and nervous about double role in Mubarakan” says Arjun Kapoor during his media interaction on the sidelines of trailer launch.
Team Mubarakan, which included Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Ileana D’cruz, Athiya Shetty and filmmaker Anees Bazmee were spotted at the trailer launch of the film.
Talking about his double role in movie, Arjun Kapoor said, “To do double role in such a genre becomes automatically difficult because this is my first time doing a comedy film. I am working with such a huge filmmaker and veteran actor. So I was apprehensive and nervous to get the performance ready, though technology helped.”
In double role avatar Arjun Kapoor looks surreal in the movie though with the help of VFX. The movie is double-role oriented but Arjun claims it to be different than any other movies in such genre.
“It is truly one of its kind roles; this is not a case of mistaken identity. It is not like one goes and other one comes in. Apart from Anil Kapoor, Athiya Shetty and Ileana Dcruz being my co-star, I also had another co-star that was myself”
“I can truly say as a team we all are very proud of the fact that double role is genuinely seamless. I am very happy that the double role is looking so good” added Arjun Kapoor.
The film revolves around Kartar Singh’s (Anil Kapoor) dysfunctional family consisting of two identical twins: An urban dude Karan, and the naive Charan, both played by Arjun Kapoor. The fun starts when their families start searching for a bride for them, unknown to the fact that they already have girlfriends. Things get out of control when their genius uncle, Kartar (Anil) creates more confusion.
Mubarakan also stars Ileana D’cruz and Athiya Shetty in leading roles. The film is slated to have its worldwide release on July 28.
