I watch all the Paro’s across ages and didn’t do what they did: Richa Chadha

Sudhir Mishra along with actor Rahul Bhat and Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari were present at the trailer launch of their upcoming film ‘Daas Dev‘ on Wednesday. During interaction lead actor Richa said, she avoided doing what all the Paro across the ages have done.

When asked how Richa prepared for this new age Paro in Sudhir Mishra’s ‘Daas Dev’ she said, “This is a very fresh take on Paro, all the women in the film are quite empowered in a true sense, they have agency. So I think this is a very feminist take on Paro. I think women in the film, in general, are as it would be expected in a Sudhir Mishra film.

So the preparation I had to do watch all the other Paro’s across the ages and then not do what they have done. I had to create something fresh and a new take on my own. She is a woman who is in love but a the same time somebody who conducts herself with a lot of dignity and uses power to settle scores eventually.”

Richa who is known to essay different characters was asked what made her choose This film, “I always try to do something different and when I receive scripts that are different have something new and unique I become greedy as an artist. I become hungry for the character. Like I said this Paro is completely different than the ones we have seen all our lives. She is a very progressive, feminist character who is today’s Paro.”

The film stars Richa Chadha as Paro, Aditi Rao Hydari as Chandni and Rahul Bhat as Dev. The film also features power packed performances from Vineet Singh, Saurabh Shukla and Vipin Sharma. Anurag Kashyap will be seen in a guest appearance in the film
