Being so successful and yet not taken as a spoof in a film, is not possible in the film industry. Ekta Kapoor has been ruling the television industry for years now. Her trademarked K-soaps with their unusual saas-bahu dramas have glued audience to the seat. So, now her character will be taken up in a film to be directed by debutante director Sunando Mitra. The film has been titled Idiot Box. Newcomer Jyoti Gauba will play the character of Anekta who has been inspired from Ekta Kapoor.
Talking about this film and Ekta’s character in this film, Sunando Mitra informs that his film is about the television industry and Ekta was bound to happen in the film keeping in mind her importance in the industry. Jyoti would play the character of Anekta, a successful TV producer. She would even adopt the looks, style and mannerisms of Ekta. Sunando has not spoken to Ekta about the film but he is confident she would not mind it as it is a comedy film and the audience would enjoy it.
He has deliberately given the name Anekta to the character. He even says that Ekta is famous for her bad temper but she is the ultimate task master and gets the work done. These traits are what he has given to her character. Ekta however is not botherd about anyone making a film on her character, she finds it ill manners to not speak to her about it. She says her ill temper is only a myth and is not true.
Well, talking about time management and Ekta’s works she definitely knows how to pull one episode’s story to month’s and eventually to years. Hats off to the queen of soaps!
