Movies Masti Magic Studios in association with Shantketan Films launched the music of Sunjay Sharma’s much awaited film DUNNO Y…NAA JANE KYUN. India’s biggest music company T-Series has brought the music rights of the film, which is extremely melodious.

Sanjay Sharma’s directorial venture Dunno Y… Na Jaane Kyun is a journey through emotions and relationships. And right enough, off screen as well it was an evening of relationships and emotions when the music of the film was launched at In Orbit Mall on Oct 6.

Of course, the star cast of the film was present including Zeenat Aman, Kapil Sharma, Yuvraj Parashar, but what touched everyone was the speech by Anil Sharma. It was a special moment for the producer because his two brothers Sanjay and Kapil have directed and scripted the film respectively.

What has also added to the charm is the fact that the answer to Brokeback Mountain, as the film is being touted, is already garnering great response. It was screened and appreciated at Trikone Queer Film Festival (Sydney), Kashish Mumbai Queer International Film Festival, I View (New York), and IFFL (London).

Apart from Anil, it was a very special moment for music composer Nikhil Kamat because he got a chance to work with none other than Lata Mangeshkar, who has recently kept her voice really exclusive. It will obviously not take too long for people to latch on to the music which is extremely melodious.

The film tackles the varied relationship against the backdrop of a Christian family, especially the bold homosexual relationship in a very sensitive manner.

Sanjay Sharma’s Dunno Y… Na Jaane Kyun, is also increasingly being touted as ‘India’s Brokeback Mountain’ by the gay community in India, for sensitively portraying homosexuality. Infact it is the first mainstream film, post the Delhi High court ruling on article 377, which recognizes the rights of LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) community.

The film received rave reviews in Australia at the famous Trikone Queer Film Festival held in Sydney and also had earlier wowed the audiences at the Kashish Mumbai Queer International Film Festival, I View (New York), and IFFL (London).

‘Dunno Y… Na Jaane Kyun’ marks the return of the Diva Zeenat Aman on the silver screen, besides a superb ensemble cast of Helen, Rituparna Sengupta, Kabir Bedi, Maradona,Arjun Vaid, Tara Sharma, Asha Sachdev,Hazel, Mahabanoo Kotwal, Parikshat Sahni, etc.

The Nightingale of India – Lata Mangeshkar has lent her legendary voice to the title track of the film which will be picturised on Zeenat Aman. Well, two mesmerizing legends of the industry are all set to meet again.

” It was like my dream come true,” reminisces a visibly excited music director Nikhil Kamat. “The night before the recording I just couldn’t sleep out of sheer excitement”.

Keeping up with the integrity of the characters, Dunno Y, Na Jaane Kyun, is predominantly in English.

Insiders and opinion makers who have seen the rushes of the film predict that in the future whenever a mainstream film is mentioned for breaking the mould in portraying real gay relationship in Bollywood, Dunno Y… Na Jaane Kyun, will be up right there as a trendsetter.
