Jab We Met is all set to get a Tamil remake. Tamil director Kannan is planning to remake Jab We Met as Kanden Kadhalai. And director Imtiaz Ali, who has always wanted to set right all the flaws in Jab We Met, just got a chance to do so. If not in his film, at least in the Tamil one!
The changes won’t be limited to the storyline. The songs, given by Vidya Sagar for Kanden Kadhalai, are entirely different from the ones Pritam gave for Jab We Met. Imtiaz, who is currently in Chennai for the music release of Kanden Kadhalai, will provide inputs and make it a whole new experience. While he has always maintained that he has left Jab We Met far behind and is working on his third film, he is very interested to see how the Tamil version will turn out to be.
Meanwhile, he is working on his plans to make an English film. He felt on some occasions that in Love Aaj Kal, the characters should have expressed their thoughts in English and not Hindi. That’s why he wants to make a film in the language of the youth. And, what about the cast of the film? Will it have Ranbir Kapoor in it? He is still undecided on the cast as he begins casting only after the script is ready but he also thinks Ranbir is a great actor to work with.
