June 7, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The dashing Karan Johar can well be called a taskmaster. The man is very particular about his look and treatment of his films. He wanted Imran Khan to look the part of a sassy womaniser in his I hate Love Stories. Sampurn Wire found out that Imran was specially asked to work on his physique and body language. Imran was reportedly inspired by Akshay Kumar for the role which required him to look, ‘effortlessly sexy.’
Karan even had Imran pose for a hot photo shoot for a magazine. The actor, who usually shies away from the shutterbugs, was seen in a bold, shirtless avatar. He went all out to get a toned, muscled physique; a la John Abraham in Dostana. Karan had a similar vision in mind for John in Dostana. John too was given a specific brief for the shot of him rising out of the water in yellow trunks. The already fit John had to tone up some more before KJo was satisfied.
It seems like more than a coincidence that both the actors have become gay icons now. Seems like Karan is all for the male eye candy. He also had Shah Rukh Khan in a muscled, tattoed avtar in the song ‘Kaal Dhamaal‘ in Kaal. While the girls aren’t complaining, it’s sure to make actors contemplate before signing on the dotted line!
