April 22, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The latest talent on the block, Karthik Jayaram, is geared up for his upcoming debut, Deadly 2. The actor plays a don in the flick and is said to be grateful to the director for his launch pad. The actor is apparently thrilled with the new look that he dons in the movie.
Deadly 2 is a sequel to Deadly Soma which starred Adithya and Rakshita. The movie retains the artistes and crew from the previous film except for the lead actress Rakshita who has decided to quit films post her marriage. Also, Suhasini Mani Ratnam plays Soma’s mother in the film.
Deadly Soma’s director Ravi Shrivastava will be directing the sequel as well. Ravi is also handling the story department, screenplay and dialogues of the sequel. The music score is given by Johny Harsha.
Deadly Soma is the story of a youth named Soma who turns into a criminal after an unfortunate event in his life. Soma, who is a bright student, takes revenge by thrashing his rivals after unnecessarily being provoked during a kabaddi match. This changes his life forever. In spite of being criticized for it’s violence, the film was a box office success.
