Dia Mirza who was present as a keynote speaker at ‘Mindfulness in Education’ on Tuesday said, law and order in India has become a challenge.

While people are still talking about Padmaavat’s ban they are oblivious to other abuses and crime in different parts of the country when was asked to comment on the same, the environmental enthusiast said, “I think ‘Law and Order’ has become a challenge in many parts of our country. We have had individuals threatening on media and getting away with it. it’s a concern that impacts the well being of all citizens.

The crime and the intensity of the crime varies but the fact is that until we become responsible for what is happening in our country and demand change, it’s not going to happen. We are a very large nation with a very intense population, which is why events like these are so essential.”

D’Youville College, New York partnered with JBCN Education and Chalkboard to Launch Asia’s first ever online course for practicing teachers titled, Professionals Masters in Education. They aim to set a new benchmark in Teachers Training in the region.

Dia was present at the event to deliver a talk on encouraging children to develop and form a relationship with nature. the actress believes, “forming a relationship with nature brings the mindfulness that is required to a better citizen not only for your country but also your planet. It makes you a better human being, builds character, gives children a very powerful tool called empathy. I just hope that our talk here is going to inspire a few changemakers.”

Talking about the event and their aim to shape teaching professionals, actress Dia said, “If there is no mindfulness in education then what’s the aim of education. I think it is a very important and relevant initiative. even educationists have acknowledged the fact that, the level of consciousness has been decreasing and if we don’t incorporate it at a young age then adults will continue with their unmindful actions and we will never grow beyond where we are.”
