Talented Actress Raveena Tandon bagged the Lions Favorite powerful Performance with Social Impact for Maatr and talked about the award being super special for her.
The Lion Gold Awards held on 24th January in Mumbai. The grand affair saw entire folk of Bollywood celebrities and TV stars dazzle up the night.
“Lion is an international group and they have done such great work all through the years, they are the pioneer in social work and organization goes many years back. This is the third time I am going to be the recipient of an award, but this is more so special for me because I am getting this award for Maatr, which was a film with a social message, so this makes this award extra special for me” said Raveena.
Further adding to the award win, Raveena Tandon said “If you read the newspaper you will definitely find a news article about oppression, molestation or rape story, so somewhere things aren’t changing and the Maatr talked about such issues. So I am really happy that such a strong message has been accepted”
Republic Day is around the corner and Raveena Tandon expressed that she must have been a freedom fighter in past life, as she is emotionally attached to the country.
“I must have been some sort of freedom fighter in my past life because I am so patriotic about my country if anyone says anything about India that freaks me out. Personally you say anything about politicians, I don’t care because we have elected them and we can ask them questions, but as my mother-land and my country, I feel very strongly emotionally attached to my country. So when someone speaks about my country and its people, as a whole and says this is the fault then I take an objection” added Raveena.
