Missing is a tricky film says Tabu

Actress Tabu who is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film ‘Missing’ has said that ‘Missing’ is a tricky film.

Tabu was interacting with media along with Manoj Bajpayee and Mukul Abhyankar to promote ‘Missing’ on Tuesday in Mumbai.

When asked whether it was difficult to play her character in ‘Missing’, Tabu said, “It was challenging as this character is unpredictable and made me think a lot about it and I always used to take opinions from Manoj ji and Mukul (Abhyankar) about my character to meet their expectations because Manoj ji character is far more complicated and difficult so to have that sync in each scene was bit difficult because it’s a tricky film at the end of the day but let’s see how audience react to it”

When asked Tabu what attracted her to do film like ‘Missing’, she said, “The script and Manoj ji.. When I was getting an opportunity to work with him after so long as we were trying to do something together and we came close to working in ‘Haider’ but because of date issues we couldn’t do it and immediately, after that we got chance to do it. I was too happy and excited because I know I have such a great comfort with him and he is so unconditionally there for me so I knew that I will spoiled and indulged. Apart from that, you get so much grow and learn from him so, for me it was like bonus”

Tabu has earlier collaborated with Manoj Bajpayee in Ghaath (2000) and Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar!! (2000) so, talking about their third collaboration with each other, Tabu said, “I think for me, it was huge advantage to be working with him because it’s always an exchange between the two co-actors. It’s not always you get that from the other person and here, I got more than I was giving so for me, it worked out really well because of its synergy and feeding of each other. It was more of organically building something that finally becomes watchable for audience”

When asked Tabu what change she observed in Manoj since their last film which released in 2000, she said, “Earlier he used to get embarrassed with my flirting or irritating behavior but now, he has opened up more and now he is used to me and as producer, he had challenging journey in this film because Manoj ji takes his work too seriously whether it’s of actor or producer that is why it matters to him and that is why he is able to do it beautifully and I hope I again work with Maoj ji because as a producer, he used to spoil his actors and entire unit.”

Tabu is widely considered as intense actor who has been slotted in art house cinema, reacting to her tag, Tabu said, “I have never said that I am tired of being slotted and in fact, I have never been slotted. There are phases where you want break from certain roles then you want a change.

‘Missing’ stars Manoj Bajpayee, Annu Kapoor and Tabu is sure to take you through a thrilling ride. The film is a gripping tale of two strangers and an unfathomable roller coaster ride about a missing child.

The film which is scheduled to release on April 6, 2018, is directed by Mukul Abhyankar and produced by Abundantia and Neeraj Pandey with Sri Adhikari Brothers, Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Manoj Bajpayee.
