Brief training in Bharatnatyam.
Background:- While studying I started as an assistant director for a brief time, for one -off short stories made for zee tv in Calcutta.
I felt a strong inclination towards acting and continued to pursue in the field. I started with Bengali Films where I was co- starred as a lead female in a Rama Naidu Productions Film titled, “Shudhu Ekbar Balo”, then came “Kaal ratri,” “Kulangar” Ramoji Rao’s first Bengali Film “Jamai No-‘1” and “Bhalobashar Choa” where I played a double role
Current assignment:- My latest bengali film directed by Horonath Chakrovaty, starring Prasenjit…named chalo paltai produced by venkatesh films released in march 2011.
Apart from the Bengali Films mentioned earlier, I acted in Rituparna Ghosh’s film ‘Raincoat’ which won the National Award for the ‘Best Hindi Film’.
Also acted in a short film titled- ‘ 68 Pages’ which has earned critical acclaims in short film Festivals in India and abroad
Current assignment:- Comedy play with Himani Shivpuri named “Oye band baj gaya”. Performed across India and abroad.

Advertising Career- My entry in Mumbai Film Industry happened with TV Commercial of ‘Pears soap’ which became immensely popular and helped to draw the attention of other Production houses and amidst stalwart Film Makers namely Prahlad Kakkar, RajivMenon, Manav Menon, Sujit Sirkar, Dibakar Banerjee, Sumantra Ghoshal, Anil Mehta and my journey as a model took off almost instantly.
During that period, I did around 60 TV Commercials which includes ‘Pears Soap’, ‘Pond’s Facewash’,’Clinic Plus’,’ Bombay Dyeing’,’ Ariel’,’ Surf’,’ Rasna’,’ Close-up’, ‘Pepsodent’,’ Paints’,’ ICICI Asian
Bank’,’ Junior Horlicks’ dabur “ maggi to name a few .
TV Serials- It was during then I got an offer from Balaji Telefilms and was slected for ‘Kahin Kisi Roz’ on Star Plus. It was a social thriller- the first of its kind and ran successfully .
Then came ‘Sarkar’ on ZEE.
In the mean time also acted in one- offs with Directors of repute like Anurag Basu and Imtiaz Ali .
I was a part of nach baliye 4 a dance reality show.
