Let’s have a look how the music albums have fared this week: While Jannat retains its position, there are two new entires like Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic and Haal E Dil.
Jannat retains its place as number one this week and is still going strong. With the success of the music of the film, it becomes evident that the film over all is a good watch. With such limited promotional stunts, Jannat has done more than expected. Though mostly Lambi Judai featured in the promotions for the film, the album has some good tracks which have helped it to reach the top position. Jannat features only the female version of Lambi Judai which is also a part of the narrative.
Looks like Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa did the trick for A R Rahman which even the magnanimous Jodha Akbar couldn’t do for him. The album is already eyeing at the hot seat. With some cool youthful numbers Rahman breaks the trend and pleases the year like always. While Jodha Akbar took more time to reach the potions in a chart, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa did it is its second week. All the songs are used for the promotion and are received well.
After enjoying success at the top three position for some time now Race is ready to step down. Though it maintains a position in the top three charts, the competitions coming from Love Story 2050 and Haal E Dil however make it uncertain fro this album to remain in the charts for long.
At the fourth position Khuda Kay Liye is expected to do even better in the weeks to come. The film has also completed 50 days at the box office and the DVDs have been well appreciated.
Ada has got itself a place in the top 5 within a couple of weeks. For Rahman the good news is that this time two of his albums have made it to the charts within days of release. Ada has a good mix og good and average songs to its credit.
Tashan is following a downward journey now and would further go down in the weeks to come. This film didn’t live up to the reputation of Vishal-Shekhar score. The film didn’t even do equally well like Laga Chunri Mein Daag from Yash Raj Films.
Jodhaa Akbar again one more score by Rahman remains even at the top to bottom, thanks to Rahman fans.
Taare Zameen Par started off very slow but is well qaprreciated now and has picked up to the position in the top ten. Shankar Ehsaan Loy fans seems to be warming up for Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic but might take time like Taare Zameen Par did.
Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic didn’t make a bang when it reached the charts but it has managed to make its presence felt. Even though the first promotional track Nihaal Ho Gayi didn’t do the trick Lazy Lamhe should do it for the composers. The music however remains entangled with the films success for its situational music.
Haal E Dil is expected to reach the top three postion very soon. The compositions by Anand Raaj Anand, Pritam, Vishal Bhardwaj and Raghav Sachar give us some good tracks to hear and some of the best romantic numbers so far in this season.
