Neetu turns Britney for Police Diwali Mela

Published on

Neetu Chandra - 2.jpgIn the recently held Police Diwali Mela at the Andheri Sports Complex, Mumbai, Neetu Chandra pulled all stops as she turned Britney Spears for the evening. She appeared on stage in an out and out Western outfit with chains et al, a la Britney Spears. While compliments did pour in for her wardrobe, what was also noticeable was her dance act which made many stand up and take notice.

Neetu Chandra reveals about her evening out, “Yes, I did perform at Police Diwali Mela and danced to the number ‘Oop Cha’ from ‘Drona’. It is a funky track and gave me a platform to showcase my dancing abilities.”

Though she loves dancing, she is still waiting for an ideal project to come along where she could show this facet of hers as well.

My performance ended with the title song of ‘Oye Lucky Lucky Oye’ which is anyways a rage currently.”

Quite a few Bollywood stars performed in aid of Mumbai police in this charity show. Apart from Neetu, others who performed on the occasion were Riya Sen, Urmila Matondkar, Kareena Kapoor and Diya Mirza. Apparently, ever since the show ended, Neetu has been flooded with enquiries around her availability for many more dance shows across the country. Will she oblige with a performance?

“It all depends upon how occupied I am at that point of time. I have 4-5 movies coming up in near future and I need to be there for promotion of each of them. Also, I have certain set criteria before I say my ‘Yes’ to performing in a show. It has to be prestigious and an event of repute. If something like a Diwali Mela where I just participated comes in again, then why not?”
