Yash Raj Films released the first song from Rani Mukerji‘s Hichki on Tuesday. Rani at the so ng launch which took place at her childhood school said, the song ‘Oye Hichki‘ is a tribute to all her teachers.

Oye Hichki is the first song released from Rani’s come back film Hichki, when asked about the song and the signification of the song’s lyrics the actress said,”This song is actually a tribute to all my teachers because this school has taught me not to discriminate and that is one thing I learned from my teachers. We are all equals, girls are now different than boys, somebody’s color does not make their identity nor their caste. We are known in society for our achievements. What we do and the positive change we bring to society. That’s what the song talks about,”

When walking about the song shot by Vaibhavi Merchant, Rani said she felt like she had become their teacher, “While shooting at the time I used to feel like I have become an actual teacher, because the kids are not professional actors. Most of them are debuting in this film. We wanted a real quality of students, so at times they used to fall asleep while we were still shooting. So I had to behave like their teacher and wake them up. We had few of those incidents in our classrooms too.”

When asked to comment on schools today and kid being more tech-savvy and glued to the screen, Rani said, “Since my daughters haven’t started going to school, I don’t have first-hand information about schools today but what I know is from the days I went to school and we had a lot of fun. We used to like to spend time in the library reading books, I don’t remember us wanting to spend time otherwise than having fun on the playground.”
