Sonam Kapoor & R.Balki are busy promoting their upcoming film Padman. On Sunday the duo presented ‘Yuva Unstoppable’ awards and interacted with young children at Shantaram Kurshnaji Madhyamik Vidyalaya. Balki at the event said, Pad Man, will be screened for a certain age group in schools so that kids are familiar with such talks right from day one

Pad Man director, Balki at the event revealed that Pad Man will premier with screening for schools kids. He said, “The first people to watch the film should be children of the 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th std. This is a film that will be premiered for children in other schools like this one. In places where kids need to be aware that it(menstruation) is a very normal thing to happen. This is an initiative we are taking and will be showing to a lot of school children who are in the age group. SO that they are exposed to talks like this but will be very familiar right from day one.”

During an interaction with the school kids, Balki said Films are very powerful in this country and that will help make a change, “I really think this is an important film because we have never spoken about sanitary pads before. there has never been a film in the world before about sanitary pads. and it is a sub that everyone whispers about, they never speak up. I believe even if it does make people just say the word ‘Pad’ easily I think 90% of the job is done. I think it is a very important film, it is an important cause, health is at stake here. Films are very powerful in this country and if that happens I am sure it will go a long way.”

Sonam Kapoor set forward her thoughts with young girls sitting before her. When asked by a student how to say and share the film’s message in society, the actress said, “Getting your period isn’t something wrong you should be proud of the moment because it sets you apart from boys. It gives you the privilege to be able to become a Mother when you grow up. No boy can do that. I think that is something to be proud of then afraid.”

Produced by KriArj Entertainment, Mrs. Funnybones Movies, Hope Productions and Columbia Pictures the film stars, Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor, and Radhika Apte.

‘Pad Man’, will now release worldwide on February 9th and not January 25 on a request of Padmaavat’s director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
