Farhan Akhtar says he loves to perform in his hometown and there should be more concerts in Mumbai.

The actor interacted with media at the Lalkaar concert in Mumbai on Thursday. The concert was held at Bandra Fort Amphitheatre and was led by the Population Foundation of India (PFI), Farhan’s MARD (Men Against Rape and Discrimination) and director Feroz Abbas Khan.

Asked how it feels to perform in his home town again, he said, “It’s always very special to perform in Mumbai wish there were more concerts happening here but every time we get an opportunity to play in Mumbai it feels great. It’s my home town so to entertain people that I have grown up with and cohabit the city with, is always a pleasure.”

Talking about Lalkaar gender equality initiative in 2019, he said, “This is the second year now that we are doing it. The concert is called Lalkaar last year we had raised our voices against gender violence and this time we are focusing on something broader like gender equality and less discrimination, equal opportunity, equal access to health education. It all culminates with this concert and we are very fortunate for some great talents coming in and performing tonight for us.”

Some of the singers performing at Lalkaar were, Farhan himself along side, Shaan, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and more. Aishwarya Rai was also present at the concert showing support for their gender equality cause.

Fakir of Venice also starring Annu Kapoor, is directed by Anand Surapur.
