First winner of Indian Idol, Abhijeet Sawant is all set for his new journey in the political world. The singer cum actor has joined the Shivsena party today in presence of Uddhav Thackeray.
Addressing to the press he stated, “I am not here to get the ticket for election but with a responsibility to become a good citizen, and to carry out the responsibility in a proper way that is expected from me.â€
To that Uddhav replied, “There are very harsh tunes in this political world and Abhijeet is here to make it melodious for everyone. In other words you can state that he is here to represent our youth.â€
Abhijeet also stated, “I am proud to be a part of such party, I will see to it that his duty is carried out properly, without hurting any one’s sentiments.
†Abhi’s acting and singing career did not do much well but the singer has found his way out in politics. Let’s see how politically correct he can stand to his words!
