Priyadarshan and Govinda film all set to release

Published on

govinda4.jpgMore than two years back, Govinda had attempted a comeback with Priyadarshan film BHAGAM BHAG. The much hyped comeback wasn’t the kind that Govinda would have anticipated. Akshay Kumar walked away with the meatiest chunks and Govinda had to wait for first SALAAM E ISHQ and then PARTNER to get back into the reckoning.

Govinda on 10 Ka Dum.jpgIn the meantime he signed another Priyadarshan film titled CHAL CHALA CHAL. However, this time around, the film was only being presented by him (along with Suneil Shetty) while Rajiv Kumar was roped in to direct it.

The film took quite some time to reach the finishing line and while it should have released at least a year back (there was also some publicity in the interim, only to be held back since there was no definite release date round the corner), CHAL CHALA CHAL is now arriving this Friday without any fanfare whatsoever.

Says an industry follower, “It is obvious that the film is being released just for the sake of it. The makers have to get it over with because K Sera Sera, the banner under which the film arrives, is looking at regrouping itself with the release of this film and get back into the business of making films. Though no one in the trade is hopeful of the prospects of this film, even the makers aren’t going ahead with a whole hearted promotion.”

The film stars Raima Sen opposite Govinda and features the comedy brigade comprising of Rajpal Yadav, Razzak Khan, Manoj Joshi and Upasana Singh. Om Puri and Asrani, the usual suspects in a Priyadarshan film, also have a role to play in this laugh show.

govinda7.jpgArriving on 7th February, CHAL CHALA CHAL sees competition from the likes of DEV D and MERE KHWABON MEIN JO AAYE. Of course DEV D appears to be the best bet amongst the three films with MERE KHWABON MEIN JO AAYE too trying it’s luck at the box office. Meanwhile CHAL CHALA CHAL arrives with zero buzz and doesn’t stand any chance whatsoever to make an impression amongst the audience.
