TV Artist Rahul Kapoor who debuted with 9X dance reality show ‘Yeh Hai Jalwa'(runners-up second season) and was seen in Surya Putra Karan on Sony, Veera in Star Plus and in a lot of episodic of Savdhan India,
Crime Patrol joins the Bollywood Brigade with his first feature film ‘Vodka Diaries‘. In an interview on Monday, Rahul said that he was inspired by performance of Kay Kay Menon in ‘Vodka Diaries‘.
Commenting on the experience of his first feature film and working with Kay Kay Menon, the actor quipped, “The whole shooting was like a dream to me, working alongside with Kay Kay Menon who is one of my favorite actors. I was nervous while working with him. He helped and encouraged me while shooting of the film. I was observing his acting and tried to follow that. I really got inspired from his performance and I still try to relive those days when alone!!”
The young lad happens to be a familiar face, having done many commercial advertisements for TV and music videos. Rahul hails from Patiala, Punjab and started his acting career with Apalak Institute.
Talking about his struggle in films industry and dealing with nepotism, Rahul said, “I belong to Patiala, Punjab so it is very difficult to reach at this level without anyone’s support therefore, I think being patient is key to survive in the film industry. There are statistics that every day, there are around 10000 people who come to Mumbai to become an actor and around 20000 people return to their city so if you don’t have patient then you shouldn’t make you decision to enter in this industry. I am engineer by profession but I left my job because of my passion for acting and I knew that I will get an opportunity to show my skills”
Talking about his character in ‘Vodka Diaries’, Rahul said, “I have earlier worked in ‘D-Day’ in which I played a small role but in ‘Vodka Diaries’, I have proper role. I play an extended second lead in the film who is indispensable to the story and leads the film to the climax. I am playing character of Nikhil who is flirty and stylish. I want thank Kushal Srivastava who gave me opportunity to work in his movie. I have tried my best to do justice to my character.”
When asked Rahul Kapoor after working with Kay Kay Menon who is on wish list to work, he said, “Now, I have acted with noted actor like Kay Kay Menon, I want to share screen space with Irrfan Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Naseeruddin Shah and Aamir Khan.”
When asked Rahul in which biopic who want to act in, he said, “I want to work in Hrithik Roshan biopic. He has been my favorite since beginning as he is my idol when it comes to acting and dancing”
Vodka Diaries also stars Kay Kay, Menon, Raima Sen, Mandira Bedi and Sharib Hashmi.
The movie will be a contemporary murder mystery film, directed by Kushal Srivastava and it is releasing on 19th January, 2018.
