Arjun Mukherjee, who made his Bollywood debut in direction with ‘3 Storeys’ has said that Renuka Shahane made his life easy on film set.

Arjun Mukherjee was interacting with media post release of ‘3 Storeys’ on Tuesday in Mumbai.

In ‘3 Storeys’, Renuka Shahane plays important character talking about experience working with Renuka Shahane, Mukherjee said, “The story demanded a character who had to go through quite a wide range of age changes so when we finally found her and she agreed to do the film, it was great because her face is somewhere in the middle of the age changes so it was possible to make her younger and older. It was privilege to have work with her as she is such a wonderful person apart from being fantastic actor, she is very warm and professional. She made my life easy on sets so I am very grateful to have work with her.”

‘3 Storeys’ clashed with ‘Hate Story 4’ and ‘Dil Junglee’ so when asked Mukherjee whether he was conscious about his film getting release with two other films at the box-office, he said, “Yeah.. So far the response has been very nice. There was big jump in audiences coming in theatres from Fridays to Saturdays so that was encouraging. As far as clash of movie is concerned, all movies will release on Friday with other movies so the competition will always be there but I am just happy that people are appreciating my film.”

‘3 Storeys’ has been compared with Anurag Basu’s 2007 film ‘Life in a Metro’ as both films have multiple storylines, talking about it, Kukherjee said, “I think films with multiple stories get compared to each other so I suppose that is understandable.”

Talking about his experience working with ensemble cast of the film, Mukherjee said, “It was excellent. They all are very professional and good actors. It was lovely experience working with them. We did lot of workshops with Atul Mongia before we start the shooting so that really helped so overall, it was great.”

When asked Mukherhee whether it was difficult for him to bring many actors in one film, he said, “No.. the story demanded it. It’s an ensemble film in which many people are playing the leading role”

Talking about his forthcoming projects, Mukherjee said,“There are couple of script on which I am working on with couple of writers but it’s too early to share the details of it”

‘3 Storeys’ has been produced by Excel Entertainment so when asked Mukherjee whether it was easy task once Excel Entertainment came on board for this film, he said, “Absolutely.. the movie was relatively easy to get on the floor. Writer Althea Kaushal and I used to work in advertising together many years ago and once I got the script, I really liked it. Then we approached Priya Sreedharan of Open Air films who is co-producer of this film along with Excel Entertainment and B4U movies so we worked on script for about six months tinkering with structure, playing with character archs, making some changes and then Excel Entertainment was the first production house which we approached and they said yes to it so, we have been lucky in that sense.”

‘3 Storeys’ set in a Mumbai chawl and gives us a peek into the human nature – both good and bad.
