Resul Pookutty welcomed at Mumbai International Airport

A large crowd of people waited to welcome the Oscar winner. The Sound Association had brought banners, placards and life-size cutouts of Pookutty. There were slogans of ‘Jai Ho’ coming from all the corners of the airport; garlands and a car decorated with flowers awaited him.

Resul Pookutty has become the first Keralite to win an Oscar. He may now settled won in Mumbai with his wife and two kids but he hails from Vilakkupaara village near Anchal, Kollam. Resul bagged the Best Editing award at the Oscars for Danny Boyle’s much-acclaimed Slumdog Millionaire.
