THE SHOOTING STAR – A new comer, Sachiin Joshi has already proved that he is worth his mettle with his bold, invigorating film ‘Azaan’ that released in October. In a country like India where more dreams get shattered than achieved, Sachiin Joshi rises above the masses as a face with true grit, managing to take his dream from conception to fulfillment all on his on. A true fire ball, he appeared on the scene with a bang and has left a burning trail of fire behind him with his debut film which made waves at the Cannes Film Festival.
Sachiin is determined to establish himself solely on the strength of his conviction without having to ride on anyone’s coattails. Acting has always been the first passion for this MBA Graduate who wished to carve out his own niche in the world rather than join his Industrialist father. The acting bug bit him ate a very ripe age when he appeared in films made by FTII students. As he lived a stones through away from the FTII, he became well acquainted with the whole film making process. He began to cultivate his talents and techniques by doing a combined filmmaking and acting course in the UK and also did a course with Kishore Namit Kapoor. This later led him to take on the role of producer for a movie he believed so strongly in that he was willing to take such a large risk.
The JMJ Academy – JMJ Sports Academy
It is quite apparent that Sachiin Joshi pays close and careful attention to his physique and health – both important aspects for any action hero. He follows a strict regiment which helps keep this dusky hero chiseled and sturdy. Along with fitness, he is also an avid sports enthusiast who dabbles in several sports in India including Boxing. Even so, his true passion lay in cricket which led him to start the JMJ Sports Academy. This academy aims to provide its students with a world-class infrastructure and training facilities for the development of sports such as cricket, football, hockey, gymnastics and athletics. It will also provide financial support for both men and women, aspiring to be country athletes but haven’t the resources to do so. The vision of the JMJ Academy is “A healthy heart leads to a healthy mind and a happier mind helps steer the county towards a better future”. This can be achieved by steering the youth away from negative influences by keeping them active.
The Academy has played 11 cricket matches so far and has won 10 of them including a T20 Cricket Tournament at Sangamner. It plans to participate in several cricket tournaments across India in the future. It also plans to build a cricket stadium.
