Saif Ali Khan feels that he is a changed actor now

Saif Ali Khan attended song launch named ‘Swagpur Ka Chaudhary’ from his upcoming film ‘Kaalakaandi’ along with Deepak Dobriyal, Sobhita Dhulipala, Isha Talwar on Saturday in Mumbai. During media interaction, Saif said that he feels that he is a changed actor now.

Talking about how year 2017 was for him personally and professionally, Saif said, “This year wasn’t particularly great year for me professionally but I there was very interesting experience professionally. I think, I learnt a lot about acting. I worked with some wonderful people. All these actors present here have taught me something new. I think , I am a changed actor to what I was when I was doing certainly ‘Phantom’ and when I started’ Chef’, after doing ‘Kaalakaadi’ and some of the work I have done this year, I think I managed to keep a brase and move also with the current style which I think a greatest thing I could have achieved. I have my head down quietly as much as possible and I done about five movies I think but I am really looking forward to what happens because I feel I am lucky as some good director has cast me and I got to work with some amazing people. ‘Kaalakaadi’ is offering number one coming your way and I hope audience will love it. It’s been a good year as far I am concerned”

’Swagpur Ka Chaudhary’ depicts wild side Saif in KaalaKaandi where he is harshly driving a car so when asked Saif that whether he has done that kind of thing in real life as well, to that, Saif said, “No.. I haven’t done that kind of thing ever. I feel it will be shameful for us if I do that as we have lot of respect over there (Haryana) we are Pataudi’s of Haryana so no gundagardi (rowdiness) there. I think driving a tractor is wild as we can get”

Talking about ‘Swagpur Ka Chaudhary’ song and entire music of KaalaKandi , Saif said, “This song is great song. It is difficult because when we do a film, we need music also to promote it, to make it exciting and that’s when music composers come in picture. This song captures spirit of the film but most of these songs are background songs. We all want our film to be as popular as possible but this film doesn’t have really lip-synced kind of performance song that’s why we all liked it. Its little alternative in its way. This film has really interesting music and background score that reflects Mumbai people for what they are. It’s the language that is actually spoken in life and it has some really interesting drama and situations. I feel our city is mix of various interesting things and our movie really captures that really well”

Saif Ali Khan has featured in some chartbusters song in his career starting from 1990s so, when asked him how he looks at changing dynamics of the music, he said, “I think it’s the same as it with the films. I think films have also changed. Earlier, there used to be so many musical movies. We even used to have audio heroes and most times, good music could carry a film. People used like music of the film and then it would probably take a big opening if the songs were hit. They used to release on television first but as we grown, changed we are singing less and less songs unless you have a very massy kind of a movie. I don’t if that’s a god thing. I think in the outskirts of India and in the little rural areas, in cabs people still listen to Hindi music and sung Hindi music and I think part of our hero’s charm is to sing song and I don’t know whether we lost something in our culture when we lost that but I we have lost that I think generally”

In the trailer of Kaalakaandi, it shows that Saif’s character is living his last day and doing things which makes him happy so when asked what makes him happy in real life, he said, “I think the company of friends, family, good music, nice book, nice drink, good weather, nice view, good holiday swimming, answering media’s questions and money (laughs)”

There are reports that if an actor does misleading advertisement then he could face ban from acting as per government’s new directive, reacting to that Saif said, ‘See. There are two types. There are some people who will be very careful what they do and there are some people who will do pretty much anything for money so you have to decide what kind of celebrity you are. I feel we are just reflections of the brands. Our whole world is controlled by brands unless you are very careful and aware of what’s happening, from your average television show to almost anything you do is brand controlled and they have got the stars nicely roped in doing all kinds of ads and if it is misleading then I think it is company’s problem not to make the ad. There are always be actors who are available, some will say I will not it because its unhealthy then someone else do it. If it’s for sale legally, then someone will advertise it if you pay them”

“Personally, I went through these things, when I was promoting chips, somebody said chips are unhealthy but if you eat one packet every now and then it’s not unhealthy. If you live on them then it’s unhealthy. I feel people should make up their own mind, that’s what you are mothers for to tell you that this is right or wrong. Audience shouldn’t listen to artist too much”
