Here’s what Bollywood celebrities had to say about ‘Kaalakaandi’
Saif Ali Khan – We are receiving really exciting response to the film. This is a small but really good film. I am really proud that Akshat made a good film and all other actor’s have performed really well. Whoever saw the movie, they gave us positive feedback about the movie so I hope audience would also like the film as well.
Saif Ali Khan is one of the ‘A grade’ actor who try to experiment with his films, so when asked Saif what’s the reason behind it, he said, I don’t know.. I think the idea is to try and do different things. I am lucky that got some nice scripts with some good directors so this a film, I am really proud of and if you can mixed it up then it’s a nice thing. I just hope people like it as it was fun working on it.
Talking about title of the film, Saif said, “’Kaalakaandi’ means like gadbad (chaos) everything going wrong that’s what it means.
Deepak Dobriyal – It feels really nice. Each year I am getting interesting work which also being appreciated by audience as an actor. It’s fun to play different kind of characters.
Kunal Roy Kapur – I am excited and nervous about the film but I am feeling more confident because yesterday, I saw the film. Its feels amazing when you make better movie than the actual script which is managed by Akshat (Verma). I am very proud of the film.
In the film, I have delivered vey subtle and quite performance but the performance which Saif (Saif Ali Khan) has delivered I feel probably it’s the career defining performance for him. Performances of Deepak (Dobriyal) and Vijay (Raaz) are at different level so I feel audience really going to enjoy the film.
Kunal Khemu – It looks like a mad film. I really loved the poster of the film. I am really excited as the trailer of this film was very different. Akshat earlier was involved in making of ‘Delhi Belly” so I like the way he writes the dialogue and his stories are also whacky and it great to see bhai (Saif Ali Khan) something like this.
Talking about different name of Kaalakaandi, Kunal said, “It’s really different. For the longest time, I wasn’t even able to pronounce it and I still don’t know what it meant. I feel ‘KaalaKandi’ is bad things that people do and it has become a new slang.
When asked Kunal whether makers of ‘Go Goa Gone’ are considering to make second part of the movie which also starred his brother in law Saif Ali Khan, to that, Kunal said, “See. We have the intent to make film because audience appreciated the movie and we also loved the movie but we don’t have clarity of on dates and when it’s going to start so that you need to ask Bhai (Saif Ali khan was the producer of Go Goa Gone’)
Soha Ali Khan – I am really excited about the film. I loved the promo of the film. I am looking forward to see the film. It looks really interesting and different and I feel this film has lot of talented actors.
Amyra Dastur – I am watching this film for the first time today. I am really excited for the film because trailer of the film is really good and its looks insane. ‘Kaalakaandi’ is really crazy but funny film and audience can relate to it
Talking about her future projects, Amyra said, “I have just finished Leena Yadav’s ‘Rajma Chawal’. I was at Hyderabad because I had South film release as well and now I have come here to support this film of mine.”
Sonal Chauhan – I am expecting very different film as we all know that it’s looking very exciting and edgy. We get see these kinds very rarely but I am sure this film is going to be fantastic.
Talking about Saif Ali Khan’s journey in Bollywood Sonal said, “I think from beginning of his career even when he did ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ or ‘Ek Haseena Thi’, he always did experimental films and I think he is one of the actor who is responsible for changing the Indian cinema so I always look forward to Saif’s films. The poster of the film looks fantastic. I think very few mainstream actors would have the guts to do something like this. He is living up to his reputation and I am sure he must have done fantastic job in ‘Kaalakaandi’ as well.
