Shahid has a huge fan base in Pakistan. The actor, who was always under the impression that in a conservative country like Pakistan, his fan would be bare minimum. And that very few people would be familiar about him and his body of work.
But Shahid got a shock when he saw a huge crowd from across the border throng on the sets of Yashraj film at the Wagah border. A friend of the actor said, “Shahid could not believe that he was so popular in Pakistan. People had come in droves to meet him.” Being sensitive, Shahid made it a point to interact with the people who had taken the trouble and the risk just to watch him in action. “Shahid was moved by the response that the crowd was giving him. They shook hands with him. Some clicked pictures with him. They told him how much they loved him in Jab We Met.”after three back to back hits, Vivaah , Jab We Met and Kismat Konnection, looks like Shahid is going places. Literally at that!
