Shah Rukh Khan was spotted at the press conference of upcoming Ittefaq, along with filmmaker Karan Johar and during his media interaction, Indian cinema doesn’t make too many thrillers.
“I found it very interesting and in a country where we don’t make too many thrillers. To come across a script with young boys are adapting from classic, it was extremely exciting”
“I just love the way the film had been adapted, turned around, changed a bit and final product, when it comes out, hopefully, everyone will enjoy it” said Shahrukh Khan talking about the movie.
Sidharth Malhotra, Sonakshi Sinha, and Akshaye Khanna will be seen on screen for the first time together in Ittefaq which is directed by Abhay Chopra and is jointly produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Dharma Productions.
The movie is an adaptation of old film of the same name and SRK shares some of his old memories associated with the film.
“When I was growing up, it was my mother’s favorite film, Ittefaq. I also remember Yash Raj, few days before he passed away, he told me the story how he made ittefaq…And that is an amazing story, he was making some film and there some break in film and they went to see this play, and overnight they all decided to make this film for the BR Chopra production”
The movie is jointly produced by Karan’s Dharma Productions and SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment and SRK hails Karan Johar for his biggest strength.
“To Karan Johar’s credit, I am little lethargic about taking the films and getting them caste, but Karan is really good with it, he sees the right people in the right role. I think that is his biggest strength’s as a director and producer. So when he decided on Akshaye Khanna, Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha, I thought it was a really fantastic combination”
Further adding SRK stated that new spin on old classic would never be better than the original but people need to reintroduce the movies for young generations.
“I must thank Karan Johar genuinely for making one of my favorite films more relevant for the times today. Because some films, like I have done Devdas, which would never be better than the old classic, Don, which would never be better than Amitabh Bachchan’s but somewhere down the line just to reintroduce the great cinema that perhaps passes the youngster by, so Ittefaq is another movie in that line and hopefully the youngster will really like it” add SRK.
Directed by Abhay Chopra, Ittefaq stars Sidharth Malhotra, Sonakshi Sinha, and Akshaye Khanna in lead roles. It is an adaptation of the 1969 film by the same name which was directed by Yash Chopra.
The film is slated to release on November 3, 2017.
