After having choreographed Bollywood stars like Shahrukh khan, Hritik Roshan, Abhishek Bacchan etc this time round for the first time, Shiamak Davar is all set to his own student Shubh in his upcoming film Linc Entertainmemnt’s Shakal Pe Mat Ja.
Says Shiamak, “A teacher’s brilliance lies not only in their ability to pass on the knowledge but also the ability to learn in the process. There is so much that your students give back to you. I truly feel blessed when I see my students like Shahid, Jackie, Kainaaz, Darsheel and all doing so well! Marzi also made me so proud this year as his team won Dance India Dance Double’s”.
For this film when Shubh approached me to choreograph one music video I said yes without a blink, after all he has been one of my most hard-working & favorite students”, added Davar.
The Song that Shiamak is choreographing is a promotional track called Meharban, composed by the hit music duo Salim-
Sulaiman.
Shubh says, “ I’m so happy that no one but my teacher who taught me not only dance, but the way to express my emotions through dance, is choreographing for a film which is very near to my heart as I’m not only acting but directing the film. I have been dance instructor in Shiamak’s academy for 4 years and finally I’m realising my dream of doing what I always wanted to do, and it feels greatest when your teacher backs you up. What more can I ask for.”
Shakal Pe Mat Ja is a comic thriller with a story about four boys who are caught by the authorities at an airport on the suspicion of terrorism. The film is written and directed by Shubh Mukherjee and stars veteran actors like Raghuveer Yadav, Saurabh Shukla, Aamna Shariff, Umang Jain, Zakir Hussain and is all set to hit the theatres this November.
