Shilpa Shetty – I’ve Taken A Different Route In My Career

Published on

Actress-entrepreneur Shilpa Shetty Kundra attended the Global Entrepreneurship Summit-2017 hosted by FICCI here in Mumbai. During her media interaction, Shilpa expressed that she has taken a different route with her career.

Shilpa Shetty has been missing from Silver screen for the longest, though the actress admits that she misses cinema but has no plans of making a comeback, until something worth her while comes along.

“I am doing my fair share of being on screen, whether it is big or small doesn’t really matter. I am on You-Tube, we have more numbers of mobile users than Television users or even cinema goers in this country. I think I have taken a different route”

“I’ve taken the route of spreading good health that for me is bigger and better Karma, I’ve been in industry for 24 years now, my identity comes from movies, I miss them but unless something worth my while comes my way, I don’t think I will change what I am doing right now” said Shilpa Shetty, when asked about making a comeback on silver screen.

Shilpa Shetty also spoke about Padmavati controversy which has plagued the Freedom of Expression in Indian Democracy.
She said, “Sometimes I do feel that Democracy has its own pros and cons. I believe in life everything happens for the best, but my heart goes out to the makers, so much of blood and sweat has put into the making of the film, and for a layman, it takes only two minutes to come out and give us a verdict”

“Seeing this lunatic fringe suddenly stand up and protesting, someone who belongs to Bollywood movies, I really think that living in a democracy, as long as it is not hurting someone’s dignity and not putting down someone, and as long as cinema language is not misused, I think people should be allowed creative freedom”

Shilpa Shetty also took a dig at people who burned her effigy, when Richard Gere kissed her on stage.
“I really don’t want to start any controversies; this is my opinion with my democratic rights. I mean I had people burning my effigy when Richard Gere kissed me on my cheek, I mean, what do I say?” added Shilpa.
