The day of Chaitra Shuddh Pratipada is when we celebrate Gudi Padwa, the Marathi New year.
Chirayu began its journey long back, almost 20 years ago when it was started by noted writer and poet Shri. Mangesh Kulkarni along with the late actor Late.Vinay Apte and legendary actor Shri. Nana Patekar. Due to unappropriate reasons ,the programme of Chirayu got discontinued in between.
But since last 10 years , few celebrities Actor Sushant Shelar , Producer Shrirang Godbole , Actor Jaywant Wadkar and Actor/Director Pushkar Shrotri have successfully managed and steered the journey of CHIRAYU back again and now along with them Producer and Head/Founder of Planet Marathi , Akshay Bardapurkar has also joined hands in the important initiative since last year.
Fun, Frolic ,Entertainment and an award ceremony to felicitate people from industry are the highlights of this event. “Planet Marathi & me feels blessed to be a part of the only Hindu new year celebration organised for the Marathi film world and feels blessed to honour the unsung heroes of the industry like the spot dada , light dadas” signs off Akshay Bardapurkar.

Since years in the film industry , these Spot Dada and Light dada have consistently strived with efforts to showcase their favourite actors on screen perfectly and diligently. These important people from behind the scenes are felicitated here at the event. Sachin Pilgaonkar, Swapnil Joshi, Ankush Choudhary, Sai Tamhankar, Priya Bapat, Umesh Kamat, Shreyas Talpade, Mahesh Kothare all such celebrated personalities from the film fraternity gather here to solemnly celebrate CHIRAYU in the unique traditional Marathi way by distributing and sharing Neem Leaves And Sugar.Let us Hail and Proclaim “CHIRAYU TO ONE AND ALL”
