Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan on Tuesday graced the panel discussion on Magnetic Maharashtra Convergence 2018 long with Arnab Goswami and Ritesh Sidhwani on Tuesday in Mumbai.
During his media interaction, Shah Rukh Khan, though one the highest paid actor in Industry expressed that businessman and corporate should avoid making big budget films with megastars initially.
When asked about advice for new businessmen and corporate giants aiming to enter movie industry, Shah Rukh Khan said, “Recently there are an amazing amount of vistas to take a small film and recover the money very easily. That is a fantastic thing which has happened in business lately. Ritesh Sidhwani, though he himself is a very big producer and runs a very big production house, but they made a very small and poignant movie Fukrey, and ran with it”
Further adding SRK said there are different platforms, which takes care of small and medium budget movies. He said, “You have digital platforms, satellite platform, where one could take a small budget film. And if you ask me, if you are a businessman, you should avoid getting into a big star set-up film initially. Those movies are expensive and movie stars are taking too much money and it is miss-utilised. The money should be in production”
“I truly believe big stars, should well meaningly take all the money that is due to them, and put in production values of the film to make that wonderful international film which will cross borders, which will go across the world and we will be very proud of it, technologically”
Shah Rukh Khan also praised filmmaker like Aanand L Rai is doing wonderful job with his initial small budget wonderful movies. He said, “Small and medium films have a huge take-in them in today’s world. Aanand L Rai helmed Colours Yellow Production; they have been making these really wonderful films. Newton has just gone to the Oscars, small films which are recovering their money for sure”
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is currently busy with special effect marvel comic drama Zero, which is directed by Aanand L Rai, also starring Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in the lead.
