Versatile actress Swara Bhaskar will feature in Suicide Company PVT. LTD alongside Jay Bhanshali. While interacting with media on the sets of Suicide Company PVT Ltd on Monday in Mumbai, Swara stated that this short film will give positive message against depression and mental illness.
Talking about the short film, Swara said, “Me and Jay are shooting for very interesting and exciting short film which deals with mental health related issues. I am playing an interesting character who is suicide planner who helps people to commit suicide”.
Talking about depression as serious issue in India, she said, “Depression is serious issue in our country. I feel it is good thing that films based on this topic are being made so people can openly talk about this issue openly because our society is still not very open when it comes to the discussion of depression and mental health as still, people feel shy about it. This film gives positive film message at the end of it”.
Talking about her character of suicide planner, she said, “When I heard that, I will be playing character of suicide planner that time I realized its different character which I never played earlier in my career. This character has interesting shades and doing this film and portraying this character was challenge for me.”
“Apart from that, I feel now, Short film are getting appreciated on web or digital platforms in India and Its right medium to spread awareness among people about this cause”.
Swara also talked about Blue Whale game which is making headlines these days in which recently two young kids from Mumbai and West Bengal respectively committed suicide to complete the death defying task. she said, “I am shocked to hear that. Firstly, I didn’t knew about this game. I don’t understand how this game is being available to children because this government (NDA) is known for regulating content. Last year they banned porn websites so I feel if you are doing that then you can definitely look after this serious issue because it’s a security hazard for children apart from being ethically wrong”.
Swara also talked about Independence Day, she said, “It’s a very special day to all Indians. When we got independence that wasn’t end point, it was the beginning. We didn’t wanted freedom just from Britisher’s but we want freedom from many things like inequality, hunger, superstition, unemployment, casteism, communalism, identity based hatred and violence so I feel we should value our freedom and act responsibly to build our country.
Suicide Company PVT. LTD deals with mental illness. Protagonist (Jay Bhanushali) is undergoing depression and he hires suicide planner (Swara Bhaskar) who helps him to plan his suicide.
Suicide Company PVT. LTD duration will be around 15-20 minutes. It is releasing on 10 September which is world prevention day for suicide.
