Akshay Kumar along with his co-star Bhumi Pednekar and Yuva Sena chief, a youth wing of Shiv Sena Aditya Thackeray attended graduation of self defense program for women on Sunday in Mumbai. While interacting with media, Akshay stated that there is no bigger actor than Dilip Kumar in this film industry.
Legendary actor Dilip Kumar, 94, who is being treated at a hospital in Mumbai for kidney problems, when asked Akshay to comment on ill-health of Dilip Kumar, Akshay said, “He is a legend… no doubt he is a legend. No one has bigger actor than him in the film industry. We have been seeing him from black and white days onscreen so I feel we all should have small prayer for him when we get time to pray that he gets well soon as fast as possible.”
Talking about how women are stronger than men, Akshay gave few examples at the self-defense event, He said, “Few years back, one incident happened in Toronto, when a plane made crash-landing in water but when they opened a door of that plane that time no one was dead but around 92% men peed and around 26% women peed in same incident so from that you can see that whenever there is danger situation men gets more scared than females and it’s a scientific fact. If you see if there is any problem in a house, a woman in that family holds her entire family but in similar condition males starts to shake up. If you see suicide cases also most of the time, men commits suicide it’s very rare incident when a female commits suicide so all these things prove that physically, men must stronger than men but in mental way and their way of thinking they are little bit lesser than women”.
When asked about parent’s duty in educating child against female abuse, Akshay said, “It is job of parents to teach them. I am doing job of not happening. I cannot be with every parent and teach them but I can surely support such initiatives so this is another way of tackling a problem. I feel self defense is most important thing for every school. It should become compulsory in every school and I hope this happens”.
Akshay next will be seen in Toilet – Ek Prem Katha opposite Bhumi Pednekar which depicts open defecation issue in India. It is directed by Shree Narayan Singh and it is releasing on 11 August.
