Tumhari Sulu is middle-class family’s story that everyone resonates with says, Manav Kaul

Vidya Balan with Manav Kaul with makers held a meet to celebrate the success of the film Tumhari Sulu. During media interaction, Manav said, the film is a middle class family’s story that everyone resonates with.

While talking about the film and its secret to success Manav said, “Our entire country is Middle class, this story is about them. They have been married for 12 years and are just like the characters. I know so many couples that are like Ashok and Sulu. They fool around, have fun and then on the smallest problem lift the house on their heads. The thing I love about our director Suresh is he showed that no problem is big enough that they can pick up the pieces and it isn’t small either.

The film shows basic lives and when the audience sees it, they resonate. They feel it’s them or their mothers and fathers. Tumhari Sulu is everyone’s film and they are all enjoying it.”

When asked about fraternity’s reaction to the film Vidya said, “I don’t think I met anyone who watched the film and didn’t think it was entertaining. Everyone was happy and told us they enjoyed the film. They have laughed and cried with the film but while leaving they were happy and we are getting the same response from the audience. People from different age group ranging from 8 to 80 are watching the film. That’s the best part, no matter which age or which age of your life you are in, you will enjoy the film.”

When asked if the numbers the film will make on box-office plays a part in Vidya’s life she said, “I never understood the logic behind 100 crores and 200 crores because the makers return on investment is more important. So not all films can get 100 crores but hopefully, it will go beyond it (laughs).”

Tumhari Sulu is a comical slice-of-life film directed by adman Suresh Triveni for youth and families. Vidya Balan essays the role of a beautiful, enthusiastic and happy-go-lucky Mumbai housewife whose routine life changes when she unexpectedly lands herself with the exciting job of a night RJ (radio jockey) on a leading radio station.

Presented by T series the film is scheduled to release on 17th November 2017.
