Actor Tusshar Kapoor interacted with media on Monday in Mumbai to celebrate success of his last released film ‘Golmaal Again‘ which crossed 200 crore in India at the box-office. While interacting with media, Tusshar stated that now he wants to experiment in horror , dance and biopic genre.
Taling about his choice films after his last released film ‘Golmaal Again’ set the box-oofice ringing, He said, “I am still reading scripts. I don’t know yet what should I do next after ‘Golmaal’. I am taking my time, its bit confusing because after working in super hit film like ‘Golmaal Again’ , I don’t want to upset the audience by doing an average film so I am waiting for right film to come my way.”
“Earlier, in my career, I have done different kind of films like ‘Shor In The City’, ‘The Dirty Picture’ and ‘Shootout’ series and now I also I want to play different kind of characters but at the same time it has to be strong roles so I want filmmakers to keep me in mind for interesting and different subjects. I don’t have intension to do only comedy films but I will not stop working in comedy films because my audience appreciates me in this kind of roles in especially in my character of ‘Golmaal'”
“I haven’t worked in a dance, horror or biopic genre. I have worked in action, thriller, family drama and romantic films so I want to try something new which I haven’t done before”
Talking about success of ‘Golmaal Again’, Tusshar said, “I am very excited and happy that our film did so well. We knew film will do well while making it but didn’t expected that film will cross 200 crore mark so it’s a feeling of great joy. Our film has crossed 200 crore mark but it is showing no sign of stopping and still its breaking new records each day and surpassing all the expectations”
When asked Tusshar whether he has any idea when the part of ‘Golmaal’ series will take place, he said, “It depends on Rohit Shetty. He will decide on what will be the story of next part and when we will start shooting the film. He has few other line ups before starting next part of ‘Golmaal’ but he has told me that ‘Golmaal 5’ is surely going to happen”
‘Golmaal Again’ is now the second highest-grossing film of 2017 after Baahubali: The Conclusion, beating out Varun Dhawan’s Judwaa 2.
The Rohit Shetty-directed horror comedy film was released 3,500 screens in India and 732 screens in the international markets, where the film has grossed Rs. 46 crore.
Despite facing competition from Aamir Khan-Zaira Wasim starrer Secret Superstar, the film managed to set the cash registers ringing at the box office.
The fourth installment in the Golmaal franchise also became Rohit Shetty’s highest-grossing movie till date.
Shahrukh Khan-starrer, Chennai Express held the record with a lifetime collection of Rs 227 crore.
